Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving!

November 25, 2025

Dear Amazing Centennial Valley Pediatrics Patients and Families,

We hope this email finds you all healthy and well!

Thanksgiving is later this week, and no matter how you celebrate, we should take this time as an opportunity to step back and be grateful for all the good we have in our lives.

Whether you'll celebrate with a large, home cooked meal, or order in Chinese; whether your after dinner activity is to play a rowdy game of flag football, or make crafts; whether you gobble up pumpkin pie or pecan pie---it's all good! Just spend time together and be thankful!

Office News:

WELCOME BACK!!

Dr. Jake Wingerter is returning to us!

Dr. Jake has been away for the past 3 years, working in Saipan, but is returning to Colorado. We are so excited to have him back! He will start seeing patients January 5, and appointments can be made with him now.

VACCINES AND AUTISM

Last week, after years of combating misinformation about vaccines and autism, the CDC, under the direction of Health and Human Services director Robert F. Kennedy Jr, published statements on an "Autism and Vaccines" webpage that directly contradicts the position of medical professionals and autism experts.

The page, which previously stated that vaccines do not cause autism, was updated to read, “The claim ‘vaccines do not cause autism’ is not an evidence-based claim because studies have not ruled out the possibility that infant vaccines cause autism.” Additionally, the page states, “Studies supporting a link have been ignored by health authorities.”

The American Academy of Pediatrics, the largest professional association of pediatricians in the country, refutes these statements.

“Since 1998, independent researchers across seven countries have conducted more than 40 high-quality studies involving over 5.6 million people,” said Susan J. Kressly, president of the AAP, in a statement responding to the CDC’s position shift. “The conclusion is clear and unambiguous: There’s no link between vaccines and autism. Anyone repeating this harmful myth is misinformed or intentionally trying to mislead parents. The American Academy of Pediatrics stands with members of the autism community who have asked for support in stopping this rumor from spreading any further.”

The Autism Science Foundation also refutes these statements.

The foundation released a statement, saying in part, “The science is clear that vaccines do not cause autism. No environmental factor has been better studied as a potential cause of autism than vaccines. This includes vaccine ingredients as well as the body’s response to vaccines. All this research has determined that there is no link between autism and vaccines.”

Your health care providers at Centennial Valley Pediatrics stand with the science, and with the American Academy of Pediatrics. Parents and families can find guidance and resources on vaccines through the American Academy of Pediatrics. week, after years of combating misinformation about vaccines and autism, the CDC, under the direction of Health and Human Services director Robert F. A reminder:

Please, PLEASE, check and DOUBLE CHECK the reminder that you get for your appointments. The office location and time are in this reminder.

Remember, we have two locations. If you come to the wrong location for your appointment, you will likely not be able to be seen and will have to reschedule. We cannot just squeeze you in to a schedule you are not on, and you will be much too late if you try to go to the other office.

If you are more than 15 minutes late for an appointment, you also may not be able to be seen, as your appointment will then run into someone else's. You will likely need to reschedule.

We truly regret turning anyone away, but it is not fair to the rest of the scheduled patients to see you late and make everyone else late, as well. We know how frustrating this would be for you, so please, PLEASE be sure you know which office your appointment is scheduled in, and arrive early!

Thank you!!
